In short

V-Range Spotter analyses the camera image and your recordings on your device only. The app has no account, shows no ads, contains no analytics or tracking tools and does not send any data to us or anyone else.

Camera

The app needs the camera to watch the target behind your spotting scope and to detect new hits. The camera images are analysed on your device and then discarded. With every saved series the app keeps a small greyscale image of the target on your device, also when the series is saved automatically (when you finish, tap “New target” or the app notices a new target). The app does not use the microphone. You can withdraw camera access at any time in your device settings; the app can then no longer detect hits.

What is stored on your device

This data stays on your device until you delete a series or remove the app. We have no access to it. Depending on your device settings, it may be included in your device backup (for example iCloud or Google), which the respective provider manages under its own terms.

Links to our website

“Privacy policy” and “Help & contact” in the settings open our website tuariai.com in your browser. The notes at tuariai.com/datenschutz apply to it. The app itself sends nothing in doing so.

Purchase through the App Store and Google Play

You buy the app through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process your account and payment data as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. From them we only receive aggregated statistics, such as downloads and purchases, from which we cannot identify you. If you have allowed your device to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple or Google also provide us with crash reports that are not linked to you.

If you contact us

If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete the message once the matter is settled, unless a legal retention period applies.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Because the app itself sends nothing to us, in practice this only concerns your messages to us. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Changes

If a later version of the app processes additional data, we will update this policy beforehand. The current version is always available at this address.
